Two and a Half by Eight inch Day

My black Moleskine planner also functions as a journal. Mind you, I have a "normal" journal as well. I prefer my planner most of the time. My planner already has a day set aside for me to write about. It's as if it's trying to say This day is important, and that is why this space, in this book, in this world has been dedicated to this day. WRITE ABOUT IT. I think of it as motivational really. Another reason I prefer my planner to my journal is that my planner only has a 2 1/2 X 8 inch space set for each day. This, unlike my journal, means that I do not have to think of a lengthy narrative, or even feel the pressure to recall something or elaborate about my life too much to fill a couple of pages. The space is limited so my input has to be brief. No pressure. I just have to write. I write everyday because of it.

I was reading through the past couple of weeks and found these.

Today I had aerobics at 7:00 am. We focused on "defense" dance moves (just in case we were attacked and had to dance our way out of it). Each sequence of defense moves involved running away at the end. I feel like painting today. I told my self I could only paint if I finished my economics and information systems homework. Write Spanish Paper. Finish Econ. Finish Isys. Everyone around me has an iPhone. I have this planner. I feel totally okay with that.

Took my Economics test. It was great. Today I met up with Phillip on campus. I got out of class early and he came to find me. We held hands and got a Jamba Juice. Then, we sat on the grass in front of the Library and talked about the nice weather while we sipped our Jambas. It was a perfect date.

That's an excellent use of your planner. I like the planning functions of my phone, but a phone is NOT conducive to quasi-diarying purposes like you're using your planner for.

Ha ha, "(just in case we were attacked and had to dance our way out of it)" sounds like the premise for a Dreamcast game.

Of course they focus on running away. You don't want to be lording over the crumpled body of your attacker when the police arrive. Well, it all depends on the situation, I suppose.
